Dr. Amelio has over 35 years high technology experience, 26 years of P&L management and 6 years of venture Capital experience. He was Chairman and CEO of Apple Computer, President of Rockwell International, Chairman, President & CEO of National Semiconductor Corporation and Chairman and CEO of Jazz Technologies. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of AT&T Inc. Earlier in his career, Amelio worked at Bell Labs, Fairchild Semiconductor, and the semiconductor division of Rockwell International. He has also been a Senior Partner at Siena Ventures, a technology venture capital firm focused on semiconductors, photonics and IT infrastructure investments. He has been a Director of Pacific Telesis, Chiron, Sematech, the Georgia Tech Advisory Board (as chairman) and the American Film Institute. Dr. Amelio is a former Director and Chairman of the Semiconductor Industry Association. Since 1996 has been an advisor to the Malaysia's Prime Minister and to the Malaysia Multimedia Super Corridor. Dr. Amelio received a bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is an IEEE Fellow and has been awarded 16 patents. He is the author of three books, An American Imperative (1993), Profit from Experience (1995) and On the Firing Line: My 500 Days at Apple (1998), the latter two of which were best sellers.
